WALTER J. CONKLIN, JR.

Chester, New York

Speed, Buck

Though chance sent Buck to the Navy (he prepped for the Point), he soon proved to be as salty as the best. His cheerful smile, his love for chow, and his ever-ready puns soon paved his way to popularity. Though not a star athlete, Buck couldn't give sports too much attention, being somewhat hampered by his frequent run-ins with the Language Department. Best of luck, Buck!

Battalion Soccer; Battalion Boxing; Battalion Baseball; G.P.O.

The Class of 1942 graduated on December 19, 1941, less than two weeks after the United States entered World War II. The class had previously been scheduled to graduate in February 1942.
